Apotheosis of War XXI
This digital picture was conceived back in March 2022. But, only recently I was able to bring it to life.
This work was partly influenced by the painting by VV Vereshchagin "The Apotheosis of War".
The war is presented here in the form of a deity, which is a tank turret topped with human skulls.
Blood is dripping from the teeth of this deity, onto a mountain of human skulls. These are the sacrifices made to this cruel deity.
The two grieving women are the personification of the belligerents, as well as mothers who lose their children, sacrificed in the war. They sit on small islands in the middle of a sea of blood.
Destroyed houses in the background. They are the same. Because death and destruction are the same for everyone.
However, behind the houses is the dawn sky, which gives hope for a new dawn and life.
